Time flies...

OK, when does the fun start?

I can't believe it has been two weeks already since Easter. Work has been fast and furious, the Preds have completely blown their playoff round against San Jose and the weather is back on track for Spring.

My allergies have heightened a bit. There's all kinds of stuff floating around in the air.

I've been doing some genealogy research on the Maule family. My great-great-great-great-grandmother was Susannah Maule Barnard Booth James, born about 1763 in Huntingdon England. Her daughter Susannah James married Thomas Bell in 1826. I have the Maule's going back the George Maule born 1590. Included with this family are John and Thomas Keble, leaders in the Oxford Movement in England. John Keble also has a college at Oxford named after him. There are Banson's, Mackworth's, Eliot's, Birkett's, Margetts', a whole passel of people!

So I am trying to flesh some of these families out. It's good inside jobs for allergy days like today.

Well, it's 12:07 am. Thanks for reading and check back soon.

Also, Happy Birthday Jon...on Monday!

Hello Mark
I saw your blog because I get Google ALerts on the word "Lithuania". I hope you are enjoying your new-found knowledge about your ancestry. You should try to visit Kudirkos Naumiestis one day. It's a nice place. It's named after Vincentas Kudirka (who comes from there), a person of many accomplishments, one of which is – author of the beautiful Lithuanian National Anthem. I live in Kaunas, but my mother comes from Suvalkija, and in fact I am going quite near Kudirkos Naumiestis today to visit my cousin. The countryside is beautiful and green. Forests of conifers and birch. One crosses the mighty Nemunas River at Kaunas as one starts one's journey toward Suvalkija.
