Been busy--gimme a break! 12/6

Yes, I know! I'm sorry! Gimme a break!!

Today, December 6 the feast of one of the all-time favorite saints! Did everyone get goodies in your shoes??? No?! Then you mustn't have put them outside the door!

The feast of St. Nicholas! The old timey custom of giving gifts was usually done today instead of Christmas. Now, poor St. Nick's feast is forgotten and he is transferred to a fat jolly Santa Claus on Christmas. What a distortion of tradition! You all know I am a Catholic purist and a love of hagiography (look it up!).

Getting all my Christmas stuff done. Still doing cards, but got the house all decorated and lights flashing!! Dinner is by me this year, so have to start planning a menu for that.

Work is being a bear again. I come in with a list to accomplish, but phone calls and e-mails always push the start of that list until mid-afternoon. Hate to say it, but sometimes, I really miss my old job!!

Thanks to all of you for reading my comments! I know I have been "in communicado" for a while. And I always keep promising to do better, but every time I do that I fall further behind. So much for planning--you know the good intentions mantra!

So, I am off to bed. Keeping all of you in my prayers. Made some new friends recently. But the main thing is to keep the old ones! "Make new friends, but keep the old! One is silver and the other gold!" Somehow that song is playing in my brain right now.
